Annapolis City Council fills audit committee, tidies accounts

After a whirlwind marathon session last week to iron out the city budget, the Annapolis City Council tended to less contentious items Monday night.

The panel moved money amongst city accounts to tidy up the books before the end of the fiscal year July 1 after changes made during budget deliberations. It also put the $3.1 million from the sale of the Eisenhower Golf Course to the county into the the capital projects account.

Aldermen also filled up the Audit Committee by appointing three citizen volunteers to the panel created in a bill passed last July to provide an independent eye on the city’s finances and procedures.
