The Madisonville-Hopkins County Economic Development Corporation is hosting a free seminar, Cyber Security for Small Business, from noon to 1 p.m. June 4 at Kentucky Innovation Station, 38 W. Arch St. in Madisonville.

Michael Ramage, director of Murray State University’s Center for Telecommunications Systems Management and president of the Technology Council of West Kentucky, will discuss topics such as importance of securing information assets, identifying the types of information to be secured and nature of cyber threats, defining risk management and preserving business reputations.

“The cybersecurity landscape is constantly evolving,” Ramage said in a M-HCEDC news release.

“Hackers have become more numerous and more sophisticated … Plus, regulations around small-business protection are more prevalent across industries.”
