Technical problems have prompted flight disruptions at the Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) as of the morning of Jan. 1. Officials have reportedly diverted several arriving flights to nearby airports; international and domestic services are affected. Rerouting may also delay flights crossing Manila airspace. It is unclear when normal operations will resume.
Flight delays and cancelations are likely to continue through at least early Jan. 2. Lingering disruptions are probable through Jan. 2 as airlines work to clear passenger backlogs.
