Check Point Unveils Risk Management Engine for Cloud Native Application Protection Platform

The Check Point Software Technologies CloudGuard Cloud Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP) now features the Effective Risk Management (ERM) engine to help security teams eliminate misconfigurations, overprivileged access and other vulnerabilities, according to a prepared statement.

ERM is a contextual artificial intelligence and risk-scoring engine that ensures security teams “no longer have to manually figure out which alerts to remediate first,” Check Point vice president of Cloud Security TJ Gonen said.

The engine prioritizes risks and provides remediation guidance based on workload posture, identity permissions, attack path analysis and an application’s business value. As such, ERM helps security teams focus on critical threats and “administer the ‘minimal effective dose’ of security for maximum impact,” Check Point indicated.
