On Friday last week Lieutenant General Nguon Sreng, Director-General of the Department of Internal Audit and Lieutenant General Sok Veasna, Director-General of Immigration co-chaired the closing meeting of the internal audit for 2022 of the General Department of Immigration with the participation from other relevant officials.
Lt Gen Sreng praised officials for their hard work to manage immigration into Cambodia. He said that they were responsible for managing the presence of all the foreigners residing in the Kingdom, the inspection of foreign workers as well as management of foreign refugees.
They also must handle immigration investigations on the look-out for foreign criminals hiding in Cambodia, as well as investigate and capture foreigners who are residing illegally, and take action to deport them from Cambodia.
Lt Gen Sreng said, “I would like to ask all units under the General Department of Immigration (GDI) to continue to cooperate with the General Department of Internal Audit, making it easier to process the internal audit and to demonstrate a willingness to join the Royal Government to implement the Rectangular Strategy, its political programmes and reforms.”
