Clearing members cheer plan for more transparency on CCP margin

Clearing members are hoping amendments agreed by the European Parliament will find their way into the final text of new rules in the European Union, in order to place more obligation on central counterparties (CCPs) to explain the margin they charge.

The proposal, contained in the European Parliament’s negotiating position for the draft third European Market Infrastructure Regulation (Emir 3.0), would share the burden of margin transparency more evenly between clearing houses and their members.
