(Washington, D.C.) Ethan Lane, Vice President of Government Affairs with the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, says one of the priorities in the new farm bill needs to focus on risk management and disaster challenges facing cattle producers so when problems come up, we do not have new business day one in Congress looking for a pot of money to shore up a program that does not have the funds available.

Lane admits there are programs for loss of cattle and forage, but the focus should be ensuring they are funded and responsive.

Again, that is Ethan Lane, Vice President of Government Affairs, speaking with KSOM/KS95 News at the National Association of Farm Broadcasters Washington Watch in Washington, D.C.
