The Commission on Audit has developed internal audit standards for government agencies based on international standards that can be adopted in the current public sector situation.

COA disclosed that it has established the Internal Auditing Standards for the Philippine Public Sector (IASPPS) with the Philippine Application Guidelines (PAG) and the International Control Standards for the Philippine Public Sector (ICSPPS).
The state audit agency released the internal audit standards during simple ceremonies on Thursday.
In a press statement, COA said the standards had been developed by its Internal Auditing Research and Development Committee.
