A special Metro Council committee that was assigned to investigate the improper use of public money by then-Nashville Mayor Megan Barry is no more.
The council voted unanimously Tuesday to dissolve the seven-member committee. It came after the committee itself voted 4-0 — three members were absent — on April 5 to recommend that they be disbanded.
“I think it’s time we put the past behind us and move forward together and not keep tearing things apart,” Councilman Robert Swope, who sits on the committee, said ahead of the vote.
