NEW HAVEN — An internal audit of investigations has revealed falsified reports by two former police officer candidates, according to a press release.
Police discovered the misconduct after several candidate investigations — candidate officers review reports for accuracy before their finalization and presentation to the Board of Police Commissioners — were called into question May 15. Ahead of an internal investigation, ordered by Chief Anthony Campbell, the two officers accountable were removed from their positions from that specialized unit, the release said.
