Australia seeks public input on cybersecurity resilience and zero trust culture, consultation open till Feb. 28

The Australian government is inviting the public to contribute feedback to shape policies on Commonwealth cyber security resilience. An initial consultation package, now open, introduces the ‘Guiding Principles for embedding a Zero Trust Culture.’ Input on this paper will help direct future strategies and organizational changes necessary to adopt a zero trust approach, addressing emerging risks in the rapidly evolving cyber threat landscape. 

These Guiding Principles are the first installment of a coordinated consultation agenda facilitated by the Department of Home Affairs. As the adoption of practices such as zero trust progresses, updates to existing publications, such as the Australian Government Gateway Policy, need to be considered to support these changes. Additional consultation packages to support Commonwealth cyber security uplift initiatives, including the Hosting Certification Framework, will be released over the coming months.
