Officials will likely deploy additional security throughout downtown Salvador July 2 for the celebration of Bahia State’s Independence Day and several events associated with Brazil’s pre-election period. Street parades across the Historic Center of Salvador are likely throughout July 2; authorities are likely to close roads and divert traffic around the area.
Additionally, at least three presidential candidates plan to partake in events celebrating Bahia’s Independence Day in Salvador at the following locations and times:
