Cyber firm Vericlave names BAE, L3 vet Bagnal COO

Cybersecurity product maker and managed services provider Vericlave has appointed longtime cyber and risk management veteran Joel Bagnal as president and chief operating officer.

Bagnal will lead Vericlave’s effort to push its so-called “zero-trust stealth design” product further into both public and private sector markets that require national security-grade cyber environments, the company said Monday.

Dallas-based Vericlave was formerly known as Entegra Technologies and rebranded to the current name earlier this month. Vericlave is eyeing opportunities in the government and critical infrastructure sectors in areas involving operational technology, or the hardware and software used to change the physical state of a system.

His long government service career includes seven years after the 9/11 attacks as chairman of the Homeland Security Council Deputies Committee and co-chair of the Counterterrorism Study Group. Bagnal is credited with helping lead the development of the U.S.’ first cybersecurity policy.
