Deloitte’s survey shows disconnect in cyber strategies, budget allocation, IT News, ET CIO

While digital transformation has compelled businesses and consumers to get connected to enter the era of ‘smart, pushing boundaries to transform faster, threats and cyber risk abound in equal measure.

According to Deloitte’s Future of Cyber Survey 2019, 35 percent of CSO and 34 percent of CIO respondents ranked cyber transformation as the second most challenging aspect of cyber risk management. The survey polled 500 C-level executives who oversee cybersecurity at companies with at least $500 million in annual revenue including 100 CISOs, 100 CSOs, 100 CTOs, 100 CIOs, and 100 CROs.

There is a stark disconnect between aspirational transformation goals and the reality of finite resources for organisations to prioritise for cyber as a critical business area to focus on.

Deloitte’s global survey shows, enterprise businesses currently lack adequate funding to support an all-round security infrastructure.
