DNV Awarded Cybersecurity Services Contract For The Caribbean’s First Monorail System

DNV, the independent assurance and risk management provider, has been selected to provide specialized cybersecurity services for the Santiago de los Caballeros monorail system in the Dominican Republic. The scope covers safety-critical railway systems including signaling, train control, rolling stock and power supply, as well as supporting electromechanical and digital systems, reflecting the convergence of safety, security and operations in modern railways.

Jorge Aldegunde, Global Head of Railway Services at DNV (pictured)Under terms of the exclusive contract, DNV’s rail assurance, advisory and digital services team, in collaboration with engineering company EQP, will support the government-owned Trust for the Development of the Mass Transit System of the Dominican Republic (FITRAM) with proactive cyber risk management services for the monorail, the first of its kind in the Caribbean.

Recently integrated into DNV’s new Industrial Services business unit, the rail team supports customers to safely manage critical assets and address transformations in the railway sector, strengthening systems against evolving digital threats.
