“It is necessary for the heads of government agencies to be afraid of committing such violations.”
In the Jogorku Kenesh, a report from the Audit Chamber on its work over the past year was presented, which highlighted serious financial violations in the government agencies of Kyrgyzstan, with a total amount exceeding 21 billion soms.
Deputy Guli Kozhokulova emphasized the need to tighten accountability for officials and heads of government agencies for financial offenses.
“These are significant amounts. However, we observe that none of the heads of government agencies where violations were identified have faced punishment. Why do the prosecutor’s office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and other responsible authorities not respond to the findings of the Audit Chamber? It is necessary for the heads of government agencies to be afraid of committing financial violations; only then can we reduce the losses of public funds,” she added.
