DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: Independent assurance and risk management specialist DNV is to provide cybersecurity services for the Santiago de los Caballeros monorail project.
DNV’s rail assurance, advisory and digital services team will collaborate with engineering company EQP to support project promoter Fitram with proactive cyber risk management services, ensuring that systems are designed, assessed and validated with security embedded across design, construction, integration and testing phases.
This will be aligned with national and international cyber regulations and industry best practices, including TS 50701, IEC 62443 and the emerging IEC 63452 framework.
The scope includes safety-critical systems including signalling, train control, rolling stock and power supplies, as well as supporting electromechanical and digital systems including ticketing and CCTV.
The 13.2 km line between Cienfuegos in the northwest of the city and Pekin in the south will have 14 stations and a capacity of up to 20 000 passengers/direction/h.
