SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A new degree program is launching this fall at Drury University that will take on the constant threat cybersecurity.

It started after the findings that cybercrime costs the global economy more than $400 billion a year,

Students will be able to earn a new Bachelor of Business Administration In Cyber-Risk Management, and is expected to be only one of a few in the nation to offer it, says Drury’s Dr. Shannon McMurtrey.

“You may know all of the computer science needed to keep a system up and secure, but if you don’t apply that in a risk-oriented fashion, then business leaders arent going to listen because it’s not a good spend. They have to understand the business case.”

The Cyber-Risk Management major will begin this upcoming fall.
