Duncan City Council received the 2022 audit and financial statements, which had unmodified opinions, during the regularly scheduled city meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 24.

Anne Elfrink, MS, CPA, delivered the audit report to Mayor Robert Armstrong and Duncan City Council, and it included everything from Jan. 1 – Dec. 31, 2022. Entities audited were the City of Duncan, Duncan Public Utilities Authority, Duncan Economic Development Authority and the Duncan Enhancement Trust Authority. Duncan’s Hospital Authority and Duncan Area Economic Development Foundation was audited by a separate group of auditors and Elfink’s company then used those reports for their findings.

“Our objectives are to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements as a whole approve the material in the statement, whether we could solve it or into issuing auditors, a report that includes our opinions,” Elfrink said. “So basically the financial statements have an external focus for creditors, grantors, members of the public, etc. and our…
