Eminent Artists Paint For Disaster Risk Awareness At Workshop In Dehradun

Dehradun: As many as 24 eminent artists have gathered at Graphic Era University in Dehradun to participate in the painting workshop to mark the National Disaster Management Day. The artists include Ram Viranjan, Sunil Vishwakarma, Shekhar Chandra Joshi, Lakshaman Prasad and Sanjeev Arya. Planned as a prelude to the 6th World Conference on Disaster Management scheduled from November 28 to December 1, the workshop aims to create mass awareness on themes related to Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). “The painting workshop, besides providing live exposure to upcoming artists and art enthusiasts, is to draw attention of the visitors towards various issues related to risk reduction and resilience,” said a senior official. The artists assembled at the university said that they aim to popularise the message of disaster resilience through their work. tnn
