The move will bring more control over the risks, with the possibility to enforce homogeneous security measures complying with regulations, which makes the application of good practice easier and generally improves protection from cyber threats.

In such critical sectors of OT/ICS, where systems are part of national infrastructure, the impact of cyber-incidents can be quite deep. Standardized protocols enhance communication and collaboration among stakeholders, enhance incident response efforts, and reduce operational disruptions. These standards help bridge the gap between IT and OT security in driving a unified approach.
