Farmers and ranchers hear from UNL extension on cattle risk management (NTV News)

Folks across Nebraska gathered in Broken Bow for a workshop on cattle risk management.

The University of Nebraska at Lincoln extension office said they are looking to give helpful tips to those farmers and ranchers in Custer County.

Topics discussed Monday night include grazing systems and strategies, marketing tools to protect against price declines and weather-related forage losses.

Troy Walz, with the UNL Extension office, said when it comes to grazing strategies, the goal is to sustain enough grassland for cattle to feed on.

He said every plot of land can be different.
