October is cyber security awareness month.
Today we learned about a free online tool kit put together by NISC to teach your average Joe how to protect themselves from cyber attacks.
These threats don’t just affect government entities or big businesses anymore, anyone is at risk.
NISC’s CyberSense Kit offers informational videos and brochures, discussing safety when using social media, email and more.
Vice President of Information Security and Risk Management for NISC Jeff Nelson says, “This is not designed for the super technical person that knows a ton about computers and that knows about security. This is really the average end-user out there, it’s written from that perspective of, how do you stay safe online, how do you securely do email, how do you securely transact on the internet, how do you avoid phishing.”
