NEW DELHI: Students at Gujarat Forensic Science University (GFSU) have developed a technology that would help prevent cyber-attacks and flag even attempts to siphon of funds or of data theft by “insiders”. The system will cost only about half of what international companies currently charge banks and other organisations to protect their computers from hackers and other cyber-criminals, people with knowledge of the matter told ET.

The students are trained by forensic experts from the Forensic Science Laboratory in Gandhinagar, making use also of the expertise of Israeli investigators.

The batch of 2019 prepared two projects, one of which is an Indian version of a security operation centre that monitors cyberthreats and alerts organisations about the risks.
