How effective is Governance at the IIA?

I recently learned that there are some complaints being aired over ISACA not holding an Annual General Meeting as required by their Bylaws. Now I am no longer a member of ISACA and have no insight as to whether that complaint is justified or not.

However, I have been concerned over the IIA’s (Global IIA, that is) own governance. Let me first say that the IIA has consistently elected/appointed eminent practitioners to its volunteer leadership at its annual general meetings, and those volunteers have appointed qualified individuals as President and CEO.

But has there been an open process with member participation?

On February 22, 2023, the IIA announced the 17 nominees for the Global Board. They would be elected at the IIA’s Annual Business Meeting on July 12, 2023, which was during the International Conference in Amsterdam.
