Indiana University plans cyber clinic targeting state and local government

State and local agencies in the Midwest will soon have a new resource to help them address cybersecurity threats.

Indiana University’s IU Cybersecurity Clinic will support state and local organizations managing cybersecurity, protecting intellectual property and improving privacy. It will also serve as a cyber training hub for the Midwest and aims to fuel the area’s cyber talent pipeline.

The IU Cybersecurity Clinic will work with students from across the university — including those from the business, law and computer engineering schools — and represents another step in the state’s efforts to support multidisciplinary innovation by leveraging key assets like Indiana’s universities, research institutions and the private sector.

Through the clinic, which will also serve not-for-profit organizations and small businesses, IU hopes to catalyze additional investment in Midwest cybersecurity efforts, as well as engage other universities across the region in meeting the challenges of cyber risk.
