The North Jakarta Land Agency has been accused of maladministration in the issuance of land ownership certificates (SHM) and right to build certificates (SHGB) used by private enterprise PT Bumi Pari Asri to claim land ownership in Pari Island in Thousand Islands regency, the Jakarta Ombudsman office has said.
With the issuance of the certificates in around 2014 meant the company could claim 90 percent ownership of the island.
Acting head of the Jakarta Ombudsman office, Dominikus Dalu, said the issuance of 62 SHM and 14 SHGB needed to be evaluated, adding that an internal audit should be conducted at the land agency.
