Kathryn Condello: CenturyLink Aims to Address Cyber Threats via Public-Private Partnerships

Kathryn Condello, senior director for national security and emergency preparedness at CenturyLink, has discussed how the company works to mitigate cyber risks through public-private partnerships.

Condello wrote in a blog post published Monday that representatives from the communications, power and financial services sectors have drafted a joint response plan in the event of a cyber attack and other catastrophes.

“Over time, we will work to modify and integrate this protocol across all critical sectors, and then incorporate it into the U.S. government’s National Response Framework,” she said of the incident response plan.

She cited the Monroe, La.-based telecommunications firm’s involvement in the Department of Homeland Security’s national risk management center to help address cyber threats to the supply chain.

Condello also mentioned the company’s participation in the national cybersecurity and communications integration center and national coordinating center of DHS.
