McHenry County officials are proposing big changes for the county’s auditor to allow the office to focus on its statutory duty: Auditing.
McHenry County Board Chairman Jack Franks announced Tuesday that he will ask the Finance and Audit Committee to back a proposal he built with a cadre of county officials to transfer the functions of accounting and financial reporting from the auditor’s office to the Finance Division of County Administration.
