QUEZON CITY, Oct 28 — The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) holds a Pre-Disaster Risk Assessment (PDRA) Meeting relevant to the possible effects of Typhoon Rosita to the country and the preparation measures by the Council.
The meeting was presided by NDRRMC Executive Director and OCD Administrator Usec Ricardo B Jalad and attended by representatives from NDRRMC member agencies DOST, DSWD, DILG, NEDA, PAGASA, DOH, DepEd, MGB, DPWH, BFP and AFP. The Regional DRRM Councils I, III, IVA, IVB and CAR also joined the meeting via teleconference.
Typhoon Rosita has intensified its strength as it continues to move West of the Philippines at 20 kph with maximum sustained winds of 200 kph near the center and gustiness up to 245 kph and a diameter of 800 km.
