Sebi ramps up digital security focus, invites bids to revamp IT infrastructure, IT News, ET CIO

In yet another move to push better digital infrastructure in network and communication systems, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) is looking to adopt advanced technology for centralised control over its network and IP (internprotocol) telephony infrastructure. The move is also important in light of recent cyber attacks on NHAI digital infrastructure.

The market regulator also plans to deploy an agency to revamp its IT infrastructure network. The body has also invited Expression of Interest (EoI) from solution providers for “upgrade and revamp of IT network, IP telephony and video conferencing set-up of Sebi,” the regulator said on Thursday.

The interested bidders are asked to submit their applications by July 29.

“The proposed solution should be robust, secure, stable, efficient and easy to manage and should have the latest collaborative features,” Sebi said.

The advance digitisation of IT infrastructure has gained momentum after the launch of Centre’s flagship Digital India programme. Further the rise in the number of cyber attacks on key installations has led to adoption of digital safeguards.
