Security beyond the castle wallsBack during the medieval times, cities were all protected by walls. People would be let in only once they were vetted by the gatekeepers. Fast forward to today, and that’s definitely not the case anymore. Modern metropolises cannot be protected the same way and require security beyond the castle walls. They rely on a network of services and commodities – electricity, internet, international supply chains, as well as people commuting from all over.

Translating this to the modern corporate network–traditional VPNs and firewalls that once protected businesses don’t cut it anymore. Owing to the pandemic, the last year has seen an exponential rise in digitization, whether it was work or networking or the increased use of smart devices. Digital workplaces, online collaboration platforms, and cloud-based communication made it possible to keep school classes going and businesses operational. It changed the way work was done.

What was previously restricted to the four walls of a physical corporate set-up is now embarking on a digital journey and moving towards the cloud. Hence, a robust security architecture is required in today’s hybrid cloud world.
