A state auditor with nearly 30 years of experience has been chosen as the City of Tallahassee’s chief financial investigator.
But first, commissioners and staff will have to learn how to pronounce his name by the time they bring him on board as city auditor.
The City Commission voted unanimously today to authorize City Attorney Cassandra Jackson to negotiate a contract with Joseph Maleszewski, pronounced Mal-ish-eff-ski, just like Duke Basketball’s Coach K, Mike Kryszewski.
If all goes according to schedule, she’ll bring the contract back to the commission for approval at its May 23 meeting, Human Resources Director Ellen Blair said. If approved he could begin working as City Auditor by end of June, early July, she said.
