Thomas J. Belt, III
Thomas Joel Belt, III passed away on November 7, 2023 after a valiant three year battle with Glioblastoma.
Tom is leaving behind his wife Jill, daughter Brandy Lanphear, her husband Matthew, his daughter Amy Carwile, and her husband Brian (Bo). As well as his seven grandchildren, Julianna Belt, Bella Prochaska, Jimmy Prochaska, Vinny Prochaska, Jack Prochaska, Cade Carwile and Jesse Lanphear.
Tom was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and was always surrounded by great friends and neighbors. Tom was a member of several Catholic Churches and served in many ways throughout the years. Tom graduated from Georgia State University where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He started his career with Sears Roebuck and Company while still in college, working in the internal Audit Department in Atlanta. Over his 35 years with the company, he worked in a number of cities. He gained certification as a Certified Internal Auditor and a Certified Internal Systems Auditor. He was eventually moved to Headquarters in Chicago and retired as Vice President of Internal Audit for Sears Corporate. Tom was passionate about giving back to the community. While in Key West,…
