With all the financial cuts that have taken place in the past four years, has cost compromised safety?
Hovem: We recognize that the industry has been under immense pressure to cut costs and improve efficiencies in the last few years. This has resulted in examples of cost savings such as maintenance and training expenditure being deferred.
