Investment banking group UBS has appointed Jack Collings as head of sustainability and climate risk, for Asia Pacific.
Collings moves into the role after almost two years as head of sustainability risk at Credit Suisse, which UBS acquired a year ago. He will be based in Singapore.
He replaces Julie Suh, the former APAC head of sustainability and climate risk, who has moved into a new role in UBS’ global wealth management team in APAC. Collings will report to UBS’ global sustainability and climate risk head Liselotte Arni, who is based at the company’s headquarters in Zurich.
UBS has committed to achieving net zero emissions across Scope 1, 2 and 3 by 2050. However, the bank’s position on coal financing was brought into question two weeks ago, when Bloomberg reported that UBS would scrap a plan to phase out financing the fossil fuel that Credit Suisse had backed. The merger of UBS and Credit Suisse was the first of the net zero era.
