SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The Savannah Chatham County Public School System’s Internal Audit Department rendered an overall audit rating unsatisfactory rating of the District’s athletic game ticket reconciliation process, according to the report.
The IA department selected a judgmental sample of 30 District athletic games (football, basketball, soccer, and volleyball) to determine compliance with procedures.
The report dated Feb. 22 looked at two observations: Reconciliation procedures and vendor agreement. Regarding reconciliation procedures, the District received a “high” rating. This means the controls are unsatisfactory.
The report found, “Game ticket reconciliation procedures do not exist for the collection process after March 2020.” The report goes on to state, “We selected a judgmental sample of 30 games and found discrepancies for three games for the amount documented as received to what should have been received. In review of the revenue reported in MUNIS, we could not find a direct correlation to the reported revenue from the provided reports to the documented revenue in MUNIS.”
