World Bank lending Romania 50 mln euro for disaster risk management project

BUCHAREST (Romania), July 25 (SeeNews) – The World Bank said on Wednesday it is lending 50 million euro ($58.5 million) to Romania to develop a disaster risk management project.

The loan, which has a maturity of eight years with a grace period of six years, is granted through the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), part of the World Bank Group.

The objective of the project which will be financed with loan is to enhance the resilience of critical disaster and emergency response infrastructure and to strengthen Romania’s institutional capacities in disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation, the World Bank…
