PRESSING PAUSE on the search for a Lunenburg Primary School principal was the right decision, said Superintendent Kate Burnham.
Filling the position was one of the first action items for the new superintendent. She opted to restart the search and hire someone to serve in the interim while she gets to know the district better.
“I want to make sure that we get it right,” Burnham told the School Committee Wednesday night.
Hiring someone who is the right fit for the school is important, she said, because early education is the foundation for a student’s future.
More than 20 people applied for the interim position, Burnham said.
