The shift reflects a risk landscape that has grown considerably in scale and complexity: areas affected by armed conflict have expanded 89% in the past five years, an estimated 36,000 business assets now sit in conflict zones and a new conflict in the Middle East is already reshaping global trade routes, energy markets and insurance exposures.
