Nashville metro schools budget audit inconclusive; other reviews ongoing

The Metro Nashville Public Schools financial budget structure isn’t set up to properly track some of the items asked for in an audit requested by two board members.

That’s the only finding of a Metro Nashville Office of Internal Audit, released on Monday, commissioned by the Nashville school board to detail the spending of Director of Schools Shawn Joseph since he was hired. The audit was requested by board members Amy Frogge and Vice Chair Jiill Speering , with Frogge saying two other investigations are being looked into after this most recent audit.
