The month of October also saw its fair share of investments in cloud, data, cyber, and AI startups. Both fundings and acquisitions took place in significant numbers. One of the biggest funding rounds was raised by OpenAI, which raised $6.6 billion from investors, which could value the company at $157 billion and cement its position as one of the most valuable private companies in the world.

In other news, Singapore based cybersecurity firm watchTowr, that aims to redefine External Attack Surface Management raised $19 Mn in funding.

Meanwhile in acquisitions, a big ticket acquisition was announced by Sophos and Secureworks, two global leaders of innovative security solutions for defeating cyberattacks, who announced a definitive agreement for Sophos to acquire Secureworks. The all-cash transaction is valued at approximately $859 million.

In another big ticket acquisition, Blue Owl Capital, a leading alternative asset manager, has expanded into data center space with acquisition of IPI Partners for $1 Bn.
