Carolyn Bailey, director, Risk Management at Blessing Health System, was one of a few volunteer faculty members chosen to represent the American Society of Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM) recently and teach Enterprise Risk Management in Doha, Qatar, for the Hamad Medical Corporation of Qatar. The corporation is made up of a number of hospitals and other services. Bailey also attended the 5th Qatar Summit for Healthcare Risk Management conference.
Qatar is a Middle Eastern nation that is 7,319 miles from Quincy. Qatar is on the northeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula, sharing its sole land border with Saudi Arabia to the south, with the rest of its territory surrounded by the Persian Gulf.
“It was a unique experience to see this part of the world and to collaborate with other healthcare leaders, risk management and patient safety champions,” Bailey said. “I also gained first-hand appreciation for how innovative and beautiful Doha, Qatar is.”
