Unidentified assailants killed at least 44 people in attacks on the villages of Kourakou and Tondobi, near the border town of Seytenga, Sahel Region, overnight April 6-7. All the victims were civilians. While no group immediately claimed responsibility for the assault, Islamist militants are likely behind the attack.
