Cal OES Recruiting for Commander of Cybersecurity Center

Several high-profile leadership roles are in recruitment in state government — including leadership of the California Cybersecurity Integration Center (Cal-CSIC).

The cybersecurity role — which has the title “commander” — is a big one, overseeing “a multi-agency coordination center integrating all aspects of California’s cybersecurity mission statewide.” The commander role is classified as “senior assistant to the governor/Governor’s Office” and doesn’t have a job classification. It requires a stringent background check and either a “Secret” designation or the ability to obtain one within nine months of assuming the role.

Cal-CSIC is part of the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES).
