Michael Welch has rejoined MorganFranklin Consulting, a McLean VA-based management consulting firm, as a managing director in the cybersecurity practice.
Welch, who is based in Chicago, will serve as sector lead for utilities, industrial, and critical infrastructure within the cybersecurity practice.
He brings more than two decades of experience in risk management, compliance, and critical infrastructure security.
Welch rejoins MorganFranklin from civil engineering firm Burns & McDonnell, where he spent a year as managed regulatory services director within the governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) and cybersecurity practice. Before that, he spent three years with MorganFranklin as managing director for GRC and strategy.
He also previously spent two years with OSI Group, a food processing holding company, where he was chief information security officer, as well six additional years with Burns & McDonnell, where he was section manager for compliance and critical infrastructure protection.
Earlier in his career, Welch held security analyst and advisor roles at a variety of companies, including Florida Power & Light.
