Vodafone NZ to use Telstra service for managing cyber risk

Vodafone’s government and corporate customers in New Zealand will be able to use new security management services after the company’s New Zealand branch signed a deal with Telstra to make these available.

A statement from Vodafone said Security Management Services was a cloud-based platform that used artificial intelligence, event data and analytics to tackle threats before the fact, and not after.

The service is supported by qualified personnel in Australia and New Zealand and offers a real-time security response against cyber and electronic threats.

Vodafone Enterprise director Ken Tunnicliffe said: “We are excited about providing this new capability to our customers in the government and business sectors. It enhances our ability to help keep New Zealand businesses safe from cyber threats.”




The agreement between Telstra and Vodafone will be one of the main offerings in Vodafone New Zealand’s new security practice. It is led by Warren Shera, head of Security Practice.

Shera, who joined Vodafone in September 2018, heads a newly-formed department of 60 with security expertise.
