FCC Requests Comment on a Petition for Reconsideration of 2016 Updates to the Lifeline Program: The Federal Communications Commission (FCC or Commission) requests comment via a Public Notice to refresh the record on a Petition for Reconsideration filed by the National Association of State Utility Consumer Advocates. The Petition seeks reconsideration of the Commission’s 2016 Third Report and Order, Further Report and Order, and Order on Reconsideration (FCC 16-38) that updated the Commission’s Lifeline program by, among other things, removing support for voice-only service beginning on December 1, 2021, except in certain circumstances. Comments are due July 1 and reply comments are due by July 16.
