National Cyber Security Incident Management Guidelines Released

In response to the growing cyber attacks and threat landscape, NAM-CSIRT has created and released the 2026 National Cyber Security Incident Management Guidelines.

 

This is according to the Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN), which hosts the country’s Cyber Security Incident Response Team.

 

The Guidelines were formulated to provide a comprehensive framework for establishing effective cybersecurity protocols and procedures for operators of Critical Infrastructure/Critical Information Infrastructure (CI/CII) and public and private entities to protect their critical infrastructure.

 

The Guidelines set out expectations for routine and emergency scenarios, inter- and intra-company communication, coordination with the Authority as the National CSIRT, incident reporting mechanisms, and the safeguarding of data and network integrity.

 

“By adhering to these Guidelines, operators of CI/CII, government OMAs, and public and private entities can strengthen their resilience against cyber threats, foster trust with stakeholders, and contribute to a secure and stable cybersecurity ecosystem in Namibia,” CRAN noted.
