Between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, the government’s Australian Cyber Security Centre responded to 2266 cyber security incidents at a rate of almost six per day

The cyber security challenge is particularly acute for Australia’s critical infrastructure, such as the power grid, communications networks, transport networks and hospitals, because these assets are so important for the functioning of the economy and society.
